|Graduating in Mechanical Engineering from UBC in 1976, Chris started his engineering career with Innovative Ventures designing mechanical equipment, and installing remote weather and ice motion monitoring equipment for the resource industry in the high arctic. Mr. Blundell left IVL to start Canterra Engineering in 1978. Canterra developed a number of unique drilling rigs for mineral exploration, seismic, and water well drilling; including Helicopter and people-portable seismic drill rigs, which saw service in 20+ countries (resulting in a Canadian Export Award). Canterra was sold to Foremost Industries, where Mr. Blundell was VP Production. Mr. Blundell left after and began working in the petroleum production sector - assuming leadership of Griffin Legrand, a PC pump and pump jack manufacturer that was later sold to Weatherford. After departing Weatherford, Chris led a number of small OFS manufacturing operations before starting Compact Compression.
With an initial concept to provide No Hassle Compression to the oil and gas industry through innovative design and manufacturing of reliable and economical low hp compressors; Chris has exceeded his vision with the production of over 1000 compressors in the field today.
|Gerry is the foundation of the business, managing the day-to-day operations including F&A, scheduling, materials and shipping.
